A look-back at 2012!


2012 was messy. I've messed up many times. I made many mistakes. Guess I was still too childish. I mean there's nothing wrong to be a little childish at times but when you are not a teen anymore, you have many responsibilities for you to take care of and for that, you can't act like a child.


I guess mistakes are what helps you to be better person in the future. Sometimes you don't know what's wrong with something until you have committed that mistake.



In 2012 I've known myself better. I've learnt to love myself more. I've gain more confident on things I do. There was this time where my self-esteem went a little too high and it made me started thinking that I'm the smartest person out of all the people that I know.....but that I was too lazy to use all my brain power hahahaha but of course, I realized that it was not true lol

This pictures here is after I decided to cut my hair short. The last time I remembered I had short hair was when I was like 11 or 12 years old. 2012 was crazy! Also, I was pretty into Jay Park at that time and decided to copy that tattoo he has around his neck.

2012 took me back to my childhood and helped me move on and not to be stuck in the past. It was the year where I learnt to be happier and forgive. The year where I decided to make everyone I love smile more.


I'm not perfect nor am I trying to be perfect. I'm just trying to be the best that I can be. There are still many problems yet to be fixed and no way I can fixed every single one at once, but little by little and through dedication, nothing is impossible.

Welcome 2013!!

I welcome 2013 with a warm hug and lots of smile. 2013 will be the year. I've decided to dedicate more on my blog. I've been blogging since 2009 but I wasn't consistent with the posts but many readers still stayed with me. I'm very thankful for all of you guys.


I'm going to be the responsable person that I'm supposed to be. Do the things that I supposed to do and stay away from the evil muahahaha


I've always believed in the saying "tomorrow will be a better day"! Yes! Everyday can be a new start and every year will be better and more happy things will come. I have a feeling that 2013 is going to be the year of great changes.  Many great things to write about so wait for me this new year. I love you guys very much!

0 Christmas baking! My love / hate relationship with holiday foods!

I love holidays! Especially the ones where you can eat a lot of food and nobody judges you. And those are the ones I also hate the most. Nobody will judge you, so you eat like a maniac and regret it later on after knowing that you have gain a few pounds.


I went grocery shopping for Christmas. After coming home from buying stuffs to make cakes and other sweets, I realized there's only 4 eggs left and I didn't buy any extra.


I could only make a few cupcakes and a "Christmas" cake. I put quotations on Christmas because it was supposed to be for Christmas but I saw that it was too ugly so i cut it and ate a piece after dinner tonight haha

Trust me, it looks better on pictures. It was messy looking. I was out of pink gel to write Christmas so I used a blue one. I was going to add strawberries but then I realized I didn't buy strawberries either. :(
My brain is so useless lah *sigh*

I couldn't pour all the batter into the baking pan because it was too small so I made some cupcakes with the remaining batter.

   

Mom doesn't like frosting because it's too sweet but without frosting it looks too plain so I add little on some of them like that happy face one or the one I failed to make a heart. haha do you guys see the one with green medusa hair? hahaha

Oh btw I use yellow cake mix... lol I always use cake mix cause it's too much work making it from scratch. Lazy me...

0 Gum cutting and train pushers!

I went to my ortho today to get my attachments. It was painful... T.T  He had to file some of my teeth to make space for my teeth to move. And for some, he used a large filing disk. Is like the smaller version of a miter saw. F*! He cut through my gums and I was bleeding so much! 

I was cursing in my mind and it kinda helped. lol  I have never had a tooth extracted. EVER! And my teeth are pretty healthy (just one crooked tooth)... well, that's what my dentist said. So going to the dentist for a regular checkup wasn't painful or anything. He just look at it, clean it up a little, and I'm good to go. 

Now that I'm getting my teeth straighten and have to go through all this was very new and scary to me...well, not scary scary but something not expected. I really hope my wisdom teeth doesn't come out *crosses fingers*  I'm not scare of needle...like shots and blood extracting are fine, but getting needled on my mouth?! EF NO!

And I also hate crowded trains. I'm okay with it in around manhattan, but not in brooklyn. In brooklyn when the train is packed with asian aunties, instead of getting on and off one by one, they push everyone in or out! WTF?! The train conductor can see you lady! You will get you turn to get on or off. No need to push. But thank God I don't usually get off on the same stations as them. Of course not all of them are like that, but many. 

Seeing this make me realize how polite my mom is comparing to other asian mothers. I've seen many aunties out there talking super loud, spitting, and pushing, but not my mom. She seem very educated and nice. Yeah her education level might not be high but my grandparent raised her well. She is the best mother one can ask for.

I realized that I started talking about my teeth and ended up talking about how awesome my mom is.

Anyway today was kinda cold and windy so I wore a pink scarf. I put on a black coat with a furry hat, skinny jeans, and gray boots. OOTD!

                  

I seriously don't remember where I got any of them. The scarf I think was from G-Market. I bought the jeans at a mall but don't remember the name of the store. Boots was bought online but don't remember where lol yeah I'm very bad with this.  I'm not really a brand kind of girl when it comes to clothing. I only look at the design and material it is made from...and the price of course. If I like, I buy no matter if the brand was not a popular one.

0 I almost ate my own meat!

I haven't been feeling so well since last night. No headache, no nausea,just wasn't feeling well... I have been eating a lot of fried and unhealthy foods and I'm paying a price for it. :(


Last night I woke up around 4am maybe and my mouth started to hurt. Not crazily but still in pain. I went to the bathroom and notice some pieces of loose skin from the side of my mouth. My mouth is so swollen, I accidentally bit some skin off while sleeping. WTF?!


My tongue have very bad teeth mark on it. If I have woken up a little later than I did, my mouth would be all bloody and I would have became a cannibal of my own meat.  eeeeww My tongue would have been bitten off too.


On the outside, my face look normal, maybe a little bit of the morning swelling but nothing out of the normal, but when you see inside, it's so freaking swollen. I can still talk and everything but it hurts.


Even now I can't close my mouth completely or the sides and tongue would get bitten again. Is not an allergy reaction. It is just some slight inflammation and I'm taking something already so hopefully it'll work.


I've been in a bad mood all day and I hate myself for that. I can't control or stop my b*tchiness. I haven't told anyone so you that are reading this, are the first ones. *gasp*



It just started to rain again. It have been raining for a few days on and off. I love the rain. I want to sing and dance on the rain, but afraid the neighbors would see and gossip around telling everyone that I'm mental or something. I'm NOT!.........maybe sometimes I may act a little childish or funnily weird, but that's just who I am. Sure everyone does that once in a while....you do? OMG so happy! lol

0 Xiaxue's photoshop lessons

So I've been wanting to learn how to photoshop for a very long time. Every time I learn some steps, I'll forget it the next minute. Because it is so complicated and so many steps to follow.


 I've always wonder how xiaxue photoshops her photos so I looked it up. Some old videos of xiaxue's guide to life shows her teaching a few simple tricks. It was easy to follow so I tried it. I tried to find some photos online since I don't have a good light in my room. I decided to try it with a photo of xiaxue and another one of qiuqiu.


Keep in mind that I'm just a beginner so don't expect it to be awesome. Although criticisms are welcome because that's how I'll improve.

I smoothed skin out and conceal the blemishes. I lighten up the picture a little. It is kinda blurry though. I also added fake lashes, make the eyes blue and some eyeliner.

 I make her skin smoother and make her eyes bluer. She always use liquify so I did that too. Made her face slimmer and a smaller nose. I tried to darken her hair but it only did a little. It is not as blurry as qiuqiu's. Kinda happy with this one :)

0 BB Cream vs Foundation

BB creams are very popular not only in Asia but worldwide. Companies in the states are throwing out their own bb creams now due to its popularity.

Sure bb creams have many benefits and sure can take out a few steps out of our makeup routine, but is it really that good that it can substitute foundations? Trust me, it can't. BB creams have its own benefits, but foundations have its too.

I'm going to talk about the pros and cons of both products. Everything I say is due to my own experience and it may not be dermatologistcally true. Yeah, I just made up the word 'dermatologistcally'. 

BB creams have many benefits. First of all, it has decent sun protection. Most claim to be whitening, anti-aging, and moisturizing. So many people can just save money on other products. It is also very easy to apply. It is not as thick as foundations and goes on like moisturizer. 

Some say that it's like a tined moisturizer, but it's much more than that. It had more coverage than a regular tinted moisturizer and like I said before, anti-aging, whitening, and of course moisturizing. In just one tube you get coverage, moisture, anti-again, and whitening. Just think about the time and money saved.

While it has many benefits, they also have its cons. Most bb creams have spf and light to medium coverage. So it is hard to find one for more problematic skins. If you are looking for something to hide dark spot, this might not be a good product. 

Yes, it has whitening properties, but it does not have a very high coverage comparing to foundations. Not to mention that it comes in only a few shades. Some brands only have one shade. Finding the right shade is the main problem for people when buying bb creams. Especially dark skin people because they mainly have it in light shades. 

Now that its popularity is expanding some companies are creating some dark shades for darker skin people. Many have a very high amount of spf in their product so the shade might come out a little grey-ish. It give your face this dewy look which some like. Mostly it will fade within a few minutes , but the dewyness stays and can somtimes make your face look oily. Even when the grey fades, in pictures, your face can come out too pale. Spf reflects lights so no flash when taking photos.

On the other hand, foundations can give you a matte or dewy finish. They have a great variety or shades to choose from. All brands have shades from the lightest to the darkest. Not to mention they have shades made with different undertones to match our skin perfectly. 

You can choose from light coverage to full coverage. Full coverage are perfect for people with more flaws on their skin that they may want to cover up. With foundations especially made for photos, you will look awesome in any light. No need to be afraid on ghostly looking skins on pictures.  

Many foundations also have spfs in them. Brand like Clinique came up with a foundation for dark spots. So it helps fade you spot and at the same time, gives you the coverage you need. Another one they have is the Acne Solution. It is made for people with breakouts. It helps you breakouts clear and at the same time gives you the coverage to make them unnoticeable.

The cons for foundations is that they are not moisturizing and sometime be drying or even break you out. It does not whitens, but if that doesn't matter to you then it may not be a con. Wearing foundations too often can make your skin go bad. Not just breakout, but aging, large pores,oiliness or dryness...

Of course if you are the kind that takes very good care of their skin, maybe go get a facial treatment once in a while, you are fine. For you guys who doesn't, just make sure to clean makeup off completely before sleeping, exfoliate more, apply a facial mask once in a while, drink more water...

I'll tell you that I'll choose both. I prefer to use bb cream for casual days like when I'm going to class, shopping, regular outings. But in events like parties, special ceremony, or when I know I'll be taking a lot of pictures, then I'll use foundations.

0 The three days of darkness / I'm secretly a superstitious b*tch!

 Now people are believing that around 12-21-12 the sky will be dark for three days straight before the sun shines again. No, the world won't end but there will be no light for three days.


It is all over the Chinese newspapers and people (mostly Asian I believe) are rampaging around stores looking for candles because they also say something about not having electricity either...maybe
I kinda googled about this and found many sources saying that the Earth will be without light because it is rotating into its 5th sun or something. WOAH! That is so cooool! Stuffs like this always fascinate me whether it's true or not.


I'm the kind of person who says she doesn't believe in this or that, but secretly I ask myself, "What if it is true?" Better safe than sorry right? I'm gonna tell you that I don't believe in this, but secretly I'm stocking on candles and sh*ts just in case. If it didn't happen I'm gonna be like, "See? I told you that was just some BS." And if it is true, I'll be all prepared.

I secretly knock on wood when I hear somebody saying something and I don't want them to jinx it. Hey! I don't believe in those stuffs, but that doesn't mean I can't be wrong...hahahahaha
I cross to the other street when I see a black cat in my path. I used to not look into the mirror after 12am, but I'm kinda over that...there is a lot more but we can talk about it some other times lol I'm tired...


Oh yeah! I decided to post some pictures today. The filters make them look kinda low-quality. I'll do better next time. No edit. Too lazy to, just filter.
The mirror is so freaking dirty, no matter with what I clean it the stain will still appear.

0 The time is near! 12/21/12 + Aliens

We have had many dates now claiming to be the "end of the world". Personally I do believe that the end will come one day and that day can happen any days and not just 12/21. There is a possibility that today can be the end. Nobody knows. I don't judge you for not believing in God but I do so don't judge my either. God said no one knows about when that day will come and if the Mayans can predict a date, so.......they are not "no ones?"



I'm not gonna put all this on the Mayans, their calendar ends in that day, they didn't actually claim that that's the "day". They didn't calculated leap years so if that day was true, the world could have ended way back already.


And for all those idiots believing it and giving their house,money, and stuffs away, think about it, if it IS the end, those things has no use for whoever you gave it to. They are living in the same earth that is going to "end"! And for those scamming those idiots, SHAME ON YOU! Scamming your own kinds. I mean go scam some out of space aliens visiting earth or something. Just make sure not to go overboard because I don't want them to go mad and attack us cause THAT would be the END of us! So just don't scam aliens, scam very rich peoples who can afford to lose a few house or millions of dollars and still be find with it. I mean...don't scam at all please lol



Talking about aliens from out of space, fews years back I was obsessed with them. I would watch videos on youtube regarding ufos and aliens caught on cam. hahahahaha I even had a few dreams where I say ufos. WOW! I mean I do believe in creatures from out of space but most of those videos I saw are probably fake. If it were real, the government would had delete all those evidence and even erase that person's memory. Or maybe DESTROY HIM! OMG I should stop wrting or I'll get DESTROYED too!

0 The time is near! How I met Your Mother

I'm a big fan of the series How I met Your Mother. I have watched every single episode of it. Thanks to Netflix of course.  I'm very excited and also sad that Ted is finally near meeting the "mother".


Meeting the "mother" might mean the series might come to an end. Maybe they will decide to write about how they finally got married huh? Anyway, this series is my absolute favorite of all time. Every single episode makes me laugh. I have not dislike not even ONE episode. They even made Marshal's dad funeral a funny yet heart-warming ep.


The writers are geniuses! I have always had a favorite on any other series but in HIMYM every main character is my favorite. They are just so unique but kinda relatable too. I used to lol at Big Bang Theory but the show is now not as good.


Oh not to mention the gag reel...if you haven't watch himym's gag reel, GO watch it. Search on youtube. It's hilarious! The actors seem to have the same chemistry on or off the show. Some parts are even funnier than the series. Jason is the most hilarious one. He is just so funny...


After all this seasons I'm pretty excited to see what the "mother" looks like. She better look good cause of all the high expectation the show had given me. I like it how on many episodes they were on that same place but never seem to be able to meet. I also like how after many seasons and Lily and Marshal getting married and having a baby, it's still so funny! The show is still standing strong. Hope they decide to continue on it.

0 Drunk Bath

Yay yay yay just got my Sephora order today. I just bought two products but I'm very excited for them. I've been stuck with my current face washes for a while now and kinda bored of them. They worked great but I want to try something new. I've been trying out face washes for years ( yeah I'm a skincare junky) and finally found my ideal ones.

I've been using them for a few months already since it works so well but my skincare junky mentality is acting up and is making me want to buy a new wash. I will still use my current cleansers but I'll try to incorporate my new wash to my routine somehow.

Enough of me babbling, time for pictures....

I got this for myself hehe is a 3 in 1 body wash. I think you can use it as shampoo, body wash, and for your bubble bath. I'm not gonna use it as a shampoo though.

Apple martini and pomegranate martini. They say that it smells like the real drinks. This is gonna make me want to drink the bath water. lol ew!

Aaaaand......here's the wash I was talking about.  Shiseido's White lucent line. Maybe I'll add it to my night routine.  One reason why I like shopping online is that you can read other people's reviews. Some product might claim to do certain stuffs but it might not deliver what it says. So reading other people's experience with the product might help you decide if this is the one for you or not...and I also like that it delivers right to your door and not have to go all the way to Sephora lol

Sephora treats VIBs very good. I got a $20 gift card from them as a holiday gift. I've been a royal costumer for years now. Most of  my skincare are from them... oh well stay beautiful my loves!

6 Xiaxue is UGLY!!

Xiaxue is a famous blogger. She is well-known for causing many controversies. Many are addicted to her blog because of her awesome photoshopped photos of herself. She may not look like that in real life but she has no shame in admitting it. 

Many says that she has an ugly personality. Her ugly personality makes me admire her more. She is not afraid to be judged. We all had stuffs we wanted to do or say but was afraid to be judged by others. I'm no different. I have many things I wish to say to many people but I'm afraid to.

On the other hand, Dawn Yang is different. She only shows the "nice" or "pretty" side of her. She doesn't admit that her photos are photoshopped or that she had done any work on her face. I'm not saying that they are or she did, but people have eyes and can tell differences. She tried to sued Xiaxue for being herself and for stating something many of us wanted to say. That's what we called "xiao chi".

I do admit that both are good bloggers, but Dawn Yang is no match for Xiaxue. Xiaxue is real and more popular worldwide. Many heard about Dawn Yang because of Xiaxue so she should thank her. She has many haters but that's alright. Haters hate other who are better than them and sometimes just can't believe the things Xiaxue says on her blog or twitter.

When the title says that Xiaxue is "ugly", I meant ugly personality. I still think she looks better than Dawn Yang even without photoshop. I do agree that some things she says are just better be kept to herself but I also admire the braveness to let those words out.

0 Life can change tremendously in just a year

Today I saw a friend from high school. After senior year, we went with our own way and stopped contacting each other. Something about her was different. She had the same hair, same kind of clothing style, but her smile was different.  Did I mentioned that she also had a baby?! WHAT?!
I haven't seen her for only a year. Last time I talked to her, she was single. She used to drink and smoke but now she is a mom! We did a little catching up at this food court. She is now married and recently gave birth to a baby girl.

Me: "Wow, look at you! You used to party like an animal and now you quit drinking and smoking" "AND YOU'RE A MOM!"

Her: "Well, it was because of all the drinking and partying that I became a mom...." "I hooked up with this guy and got pregnant. We decided to get married and here we are."

Me: "You're only a year older than me... I'm still like a kid"

Her: "haha I think everything was meant to be. I finally stopped drinking and smoking. I now have my own family"

Me: "..."

Her: " Don't worry. Maybe it is not your time yet. Everyone has their own story in their life."

Me: "You're right!"


We talk for a while, said our goodbyes and promise to stay in contact with each other. I left thinking about my life. Yeah maybe the baby was an accident, but it changed her life...in a good way. I don't want to get pregnant accidentally and married the guy, but it still makes me wonder what am I doing with my life. Am I going to the right direction? I feel like my life haven't change as much as a few years back. Is it a good or bad thing?

What can you do with your life when you have no friends nor job

Not all of us have friends. You might know people but not necessarily friends. You can be quiet, shy, or even weird. That's why you don't have any friends. People who are scared to talk to others, have social problems, or even those who are too busy to make any friends because they have their own problems to worry about. Who needs friends? Yeah it is good to have friends but what can those who doesn't have any friends do about their life? So much to do!

Be with your family. Family members die. So take advantage and be with them more. Clean the house. If you are a failure and have no friends nor job, at least do something around the house to make it better rather than sleep till 2:00pm the next morning. If you are lazy about everything and if everything seems to be against you, still LIVE your life. Your time might not have come yet. It will be better I PROMISE! Don't think too much, no need to be depress. Don't do anything stupid that you will regret later. Baby steps... Life is unfair but we their will be a time where you will shine. Life will be turned around for you. 

Read books. Books make you smart. Read helpful books and when you time come, surprise everyone by how much you know. F*ck all those stupid relatives and those haters. Who care what they think. If you let their words get to you, they win. How can you let them win when you hate them so much. F*ck everyone who had done you wrong. They are arses so why should you forgive. One day you will be better than them. You will be superior than them. Live you life. Do better little by little. Even if your own parent are looking down on you, don't give up. One day you will show them who you can be and are the abilities you have.

Please don't misunderstand this video as a message to be ashamed of your face shape. I'm very happy with the face shape I was born with. My face is considered quite round and I've seen it as a blessing because round face girls tend to look younger and more innocent.

However, your face can become excessively bloated/puffy due to factors such as lifestyle and diet. You'd be surprised to find out that your 'naturally puffy cheeks' could be self caused after all.

What I share in this video is going to define your natural face shape. It's not going to transform your face to an extreme degree (for example, if you have a stronger jaw line -this isn't gonna remove it) but it will sharpen your face to give you it's NATURAL DEFINITION. No matter what face shape you have, you CAN make your face line more defined.

Yes it is. Beauty is Pain right? lol but in all seriousness, I really have to say I enjoy taking after myself. Plus, making these lifestyle changes will benefit my health overall (drinking more water, reducing my sodium intake etc) Will I be able to keep this lifestyle on going constantly? Probably not because there's definitely gonna be days where I'll be lazy and eat junk food. Ah well, it happens. At least you know this piece of information now and whenever you need your face to look more defined (photoshoot coming up, special occasion or for vanity reasons lol, you'll know what you can do to define your face. After my lifestyle chances, even now my face still has it's natural roundness. I've just drained the excess water retention and bloating.
